Day 40 of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage begins with the descent from the mountain after one of the hardest days of the journey. The road continues through four temples in one day, including one huge and unique temple that stands out along the way. After the climb, the exhaustion, and everything the pilgrimage has already brought, this day feels different. The journey is getting closer to the end now.
