In this video we take a boat deep into Nuuk Fjord, catch our own lunch, and eat it at Qooqqut Nuan, a restaurant at the edge of the world, then finish with a Greenlandic barbecue on the beach: whale, seal, and Arctic ingredients cooked on hot rocks. Welcome to Greenland, where every meal is an unknown adventure and whatever you catch is what you eat! Day one in Nuuk, and we're heading an hour by boat through Nuuk Fjord — past icebergs we pull up for drinking water — fishing for redfish and cod along the way. The catch goes straight to Qooqqut Nuan, a tiny summer-only restaurant on a hill at Qooqqut, in the middle of nowhere, where the kitchen turns your own fish into lunch, and I couldn't believe what they served! Then back in Nuuk, as the sun goes down, we've arranged a traditional Greenlandic barbecue on the beach at Inuk Hostels, looking out over the fjord: whale and seal grilled on hot rocks, Greenlandic snacks, a song, and one thing I've never tried in my life.
