Quitting the City to Renovate Our Dream Home in Portugal (6 Years Later)

It’s been six years since we bought our property in central Portugal and we’ve been renovating it ever since. The plan was to turn this abandoned land and farmhouse into our dream home so we could enjoy a simpler, slower pace of life in the Portuguese sunshine. The question we get asked most is NOT “how do we do all this?”. It's: if we knew about every mistake, every cost, and every challenge... “would we do it all again?” Or do we regret taking on such a big renovation project in a foreign country?
