The Real Reason Jack Ruby Shot Oswald

Bad Things: True Crime11,640回視聴投稿日: 2026/11/07
Everyone knows the story. Two days after JFK was killed, a Dallas nightclub owner walked into a police basement full of cops and cameras and shot Lee Harvey Oswald on live television. And everyone knows why: the mob sent him to shut Oswald up. There’s a problem with that story, and it’s a piece of paper in Jack Ruby’s jacket pocket. A Western Union receipt, stamped four minutes before the shot. In this episode we go back through the whole weekend. Who Ruby actually was before anyone had heard his name. What he did on Friday and Saturday while the rest of the country sat in front of the TV. And then Sunday morning, minute by minute, on two clocks: the police department’s and Ruby’s. The two clocks were never supposed to meet. They met anyway, and the question is how. We also look at what Ruby said afterward, including the jailhouse meeting with Earl Warren that gets quoted in every conspiracy video, and the part of it that always gets cut. We go through what the House committee found in 1979 and why it’s narrower than people think. And we look at the one police witness whose story got Ruby’s conviction thrown out, and what happened to his lie detector test. Ruby said it himself, in the first hour: “If I had planned this, I couldn’t have had my timing any better.” By the end you’ll know whether to believe him.
