Growing up in rural Japan while being seen as foreign, I struggled to understand where - and with whom - I belonged. I left Noto at 18 and built a life elsewhere, rarely looking back. But after the earthquake devastated the peninsula, I returned with friends who had become part of my sense of home. This film explores furusato - the place that formed us - and the complicated ties that remain even after we leave. It is a story about mixed-cultural identity, grief, community, chosen family, and the question that many of us have carried: Is home a place, a person, or somewhere we can finally be ourselves?
