Kento attends Nissan Tochigi Automotive College, a Nissan-run vocational school where nearly 500 students study automotive engineering, car maintenance, and Japan's latest automotive technologies, including the legendary Nissan GT-R. In this Day in the Life in Japan documentary, we follow Kento through his daily school routine, from dormitory life to hands-on automotive training. As a third-year student in the four-year Advanced Automotive Engineering program, he's working toward Japan's highest national automotive mechanic certification, an exam with a challenging 50% written-test pass rate in 2025. Japanese work culture places a strong emphasis on teamwork, precision, and craftsmanship, and this automotive school is no different. Students work together to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles while learning from experienced Nissan instructors and GT-R-certified technicians.
