The Hunt Begins Before the Chase | Full Wildlife Documentary

Every hunt you have ever seen was decided before the first stride. In this Wild Safari documentary, we follow three of Africa's greatest hunters through the hidden minutes before the chase. On the Serengeti, a lioness reads a herd of wildebeest the way a general reads a map. On the open plains, a cheetah wins with an angle long before she reaches 58 mph. And in the dappled woodland, a leopard turns forty feet into ten without making a sound, while an impala's single ear decides everything. Grounded in real field science, from Serengeti lion tracking (Hopcraft, Sinclair & Packer, 2005) and cooperative hunting in Etosha (Stander, 1992), to collar data from wild cheetahs in Botswana (Wilson et al., Nature, 2013), gazelle vigilance (FitzGibbon, 1989) and leopard hunting habitat in Phinda (Balme, Hunter & Slotow, 2007).
